Frank Vignola & Vinny Raniolo

Joe Scott and Hannah Alkire, aka Acoustic Eidolon, are two very special and talented musicians.  Hannah, a studio cellist, studied with Gabriel Magyar of the Hungarian String Quartet and founding member of the celebrated Anasazi String Quartet, was classically trained.  Joe Scott, began playing the acoustic guitar at age 12 and at 14 took up the banjo and won many contests at regional bluegrass festivals.  He attended Guitar Institute Of Technology and studied with many of the guitar greats like Tommy  Tedesco, Robin Ford & Joe Pass.  After touring with the New Christy Minstrels Joe started the group Wind Machine and toured the next 14 years and released 13 critically acclaimed recordings.  As fate would have it the two were married and this unique union of guitar (guitjo), cello and vocals produce some of the most beautiful and thought provoking music on the scene today.

The music of Long Island-born Frank Vignola breaks down the barriers between popular music and traditional jazz to create a unique acoustic string music experience. Several years ago he joined forces with young guitarist Vinny Raniolo, and though they've played together in ensembles of various sizes, it's as a duo that they really get cooking. The two mix original material with unique renditions of contemporary tunes to create a smoking-hot blend of contemporary acoustic rock, gypsy jazz, bluegrass, swing, and blues. The late guitar titan Les Paul named Frank Vignola as one of the five guitarists he admires most, and with Vinny Raniolo he plays a show that goes beyond high energy. It's jazz in overdrive, both technically and conceptually!

Clive has established himself as one of the world's premier acoustic guitar players.  He has toured across Europe, Australia, the Middle East and North America, garnering praise for his sublime performances of everything from 16th and 17th century lute music to Jazz standards, Blues, Irish reels and his own groundbreaking compositions.  Lauded guitarist Tommy Emmanuel has also taken Clive on the road with him and similar nods to Clive's musicianship have been given by everyone from classical guitarist John Williams to Madonna, Guy Ritchie, Michelin award-winning chef Jean-Christophe Novelli and the Sultanate of Oman.

Joe Robinson was born in Temagog, New South Wales, Australia. He started playing piano at the age of six, only because he was told his fingers were too small to play the guitar.  At aged ten, he quit piano and began to play the guitar. He outgrew his guitar teacher in less than 12 months, and started to teach himself from the internet.  When he was 11 years old, Joe began touring with different Australian artists, including Tommy Emmanuel, who became his mentor. When Joe Robinson was 13, he won the Australian National Songwriting Competition.

In 2006 he recorded his debut album, titled Birdseed.  At age 17, Robinson won the
Australia's Got Talent grand finale on 1 July 2008, performing a fingerstyle cover of "Classical Gas".  On 19 July 2009, Robinson was awarded the 2009 Senior Grand Champion Performer of the World at the World Championships of Performing Arts in Los Angeles.

Needless to say, Joe is a very extraordinary talent not to be missed!

“A TREE FINDS ITS VOICE” - 2016 was a magical year for AE. Hannah had a new cello built by world renowned cello maker Christopher Dungey, and after Chris cut the wood for this cello, they discovered that there was enough wood to build Joe a new guitar, making these instruments a matched set. Joe commissioned master luthier Beau Hannam to build the guitar. These 2 instruments were used to write and record many of the songs on AE’s new CD, “A Tree Finds It’s Voice”, which features new originals as well as some surprising new cover tunes like Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody"! This concert will take the audience on the journey of the tree and the creation of these wonderful instruments and the music they’ve inspired. Don’t miss this opportunity to see and hear these magnificent instruments!
